Kosher Charcuterie Board Inspiration: Ideas for Every Occasion

philipp-deus-uO95dylxdUM-unsplash.jpg

Startle by the fact that there has been a demand frenzy in the notoriety of kosher charcuterie boards, and how it has taken off.

These alluring, delectable plates make peeps in love with the kosher dietary regulations.

I mean… duh!

It is the most eye-arresting must-have whether you're celebrating a holiday, hosting a Shabbat dinner, a small hangout sesh with BFFs, or simply put to level up your snack game.

So, I know your pain point.

Haha Yep, I know.

Some ideation and tidbits to create the ultimate kosher charcuterie board that is perfect for every occasion.

Well, no more fret my friends, all shall be well, and nachos!

Kosher Charcuterie? A Perfect Concoction of Tradition and Trendiness

Okay, I’ll not mince words and will say the truth.

A mundane charcuterie board is prepared with an array of cured meats, cheeses, and add-ons such as fruits, crackers, nuts, and more.

However, when we enter into the realm of a kosher charcuterie board, there are some significant points that I’m noodling on.

First and foremost, all meats and cheeses on the board must be certified kosher. This brings us to the most profound thing this board has prepared and processed as per the Jewish dietary laws. Quoted

With the above discourse, it is pivotal to set aside dairy and meat products on the board, as blending the two is not allowed in Kosher dietary law.

Strict. Much.

To avoid that to happen, it is common to decouple boards or plates for meat and dairy products.

Btw some insights into my mockery.

Hmm…

One of my die crew (friends) folk, put together that it’s not a char-cut-erie board but pronounced char-cute-erie board and the ch is pronounced “sh” not “ch”.

My whole life was a lie!!!

Sue me_ AHHH.

Kosher Charcuterie Board Ideas

Now that you know the basics a bit (fingers crossed), let's do a virtual dialogue about some visionary and delicious ideas for a kosher charcuterie board:

1.Mediterranean-Inspired Board

A Mediterranean charcuterie board is a pristine pick for parties, dinners on the patio, or picnics in the park.

Heap all your devouring mezzo items on the tray and arrange them on the board with contrasting colour combos.

I know that’s the trickiest part.

But hey this is what you called a culinary conundrum…

P.S. The Mediterranean region includes nations, ranging from France and Bosnia to Turkey and Malta.

Ending on a span of cuisines, allowing us to include a wide range of extras.

Here are some listed items (for you by me):

  • Hummus or Tahini

  • Baba ganoush

  • Assorted nuts (I relish the salty yet spicy cashews)

  • Baked fita or pita bread

  • Black/Green grapes on the vine

  • Tzatziki

  • chorizo bites, lamb or chicken shawarma, salami, meatballs

  • Olives

  • Cheese (some pop kinds are Manchego, Feta, Goat, Parmesan…)

  • Pita chips

  • Fruits (berries, plums, dried figs, cherry tomatoes_ for the win)

  • Grilled Veggies

  • Dates (how can we miss it)

  • Sourdough slices or homemade crackers

Last part, just enjoy this platter with your loved one and nothing else.

2.New York Deli Board

I’m calling all charcuterie enthusiasts! Let's ham it up and raise the steaks with charcuterie! I’ve hunted some overlooked charcuterie boards in New York City that will be a hit for a cozy evening with your love.

So are you ready to spice up your plate with meat and cheese paired with a glass of Pinot and some romantic gestures (Shhh…).

For recurring dinners an Italian institution, il Buco is MUAH… they're renowned for their best meat and cheese plates with grilled veggies (asparagus), in-house salumeria with cured in-house salumi, panetteria with their classic bread, and formaggeria.

YUM.

Then comes a Paris-inspired bistro a.k.a. Buvette that is famous for prosciutto and egg toast, a selection of fromages (rich and creamy raw cow’s milk, goat’s milk with a touch of jersey cow cream, or aged cow’s milk with a fruity and nutty flavor). Also, it offers chicken paté with onion confit, potted duck confit with roasted shallots, cured pork sausage marinated in olive oil, or pearls of prosciutto with sage and honey.

OMG_ literally I bet it tastes like heaven.

And this doesn’t just stop here cuz the classic deli-inspired board is all there for you. It includes pastrami, rye bread, mustard, corned beef, and pickles with some sliced cheeses like Swiss and Cheddar, and the aroma of some classic deli sides like coleslaw or potato salad.

3.Wine and Cheese Board

Whenever a holiday season rolled around one thing that zaps my thoughts is to host a wine and cheese party that will leave your friends talking for weeks to come!

When it comes to this board I have to say it out loud THERE ARE NO SET RULES.

This impromptu party will satisfy every guest of yours if paired with the best cheese and wine couple.

Here, I’ve listed some options for wine:

  • Pinot Noir

  • Provence Rosé

  • Riesling

  • Champagne

  • Sauvignon Blanc

And here, I’ve listed some options for cheese:

  • Ricotta – Goes well with Riesling

  • Bleu Cheese – Pairs well with a Pinot Noir or a sweet Port

  • Feta – Slightly sweet wine is perfect with salty feta! I like it best with a bright red or provence Rosé.

  • Brie – Goes well with many wines, but my favorite pairing is Sauvignon Blanc

  • Parmesan – Delicious with a bubbly Champagne

Will it be your next holiday board hook-up?

4. Sweet and Savory Board

Games season is in full swing and therefore I’m excited to share with you this board that has something for everyone.

And you know better that food is the most important part while watching the game.

Before I forget, you can’t go wrong with a spread of sweet and salty snacks. There is something for everyone and it’s super easy to put together.
